SSHY311 History in Primary Education

This course extends primary school teachers with knowledge and skills to teach Social Studies in Primary Schools. The content will examine Oceania as a region, its settlement, influences, change and challenges from then (Pleistocene period) to now (21st Century). Library research will feature very strongly as an assessment component with special attention to developing research skills of History. These should help develop knowledge skills and attitudes in their roles as emerging teachers
